2004 REVEALS RE/MAX ONCE AGAIN RULES AS MARKET-SHARE LEADER

MLSNI statistics show that 134,127 residential listings were sold in 2004. RE/MAX agents accounted for 31,942 (23.8 percent) of the listings sold. The next largest competitor was Coldwell Banker with 20,946 listings sold (15.6 percent). Others in the top five were Century 21 with 13,053 (9.7 percent), Baird & Warner with 6,930 (5.2 percent) and GMAC with 5,244 (3.9 percent). Data available through the MLSNI may not reflect all real estate activity in a specific market area. RE/MAX was the market-share leader in more than 200+ towns and communities across the Chicago area, as well as in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.

The following is a summary of some of the key market areas, as defined by the MLSNI, in which RE/MAX earned market-share leadership in 2004.

Cook County - Of the 75,317 homes sold in the Cook County market area, RE/MAX leads with a 18 percent market share.

DuPage County - Of the 22,996 homes sold in the DuPage County market area, RE/MAX leads with a 32.2 percent market share.

Elgin - Of the 5,787 homes sold in the Elgin market area, RE/MAX leads with a 37.4 percent market share. The Elgin market includes Burlington, Carpentersville, East Dundee, Elgin, Genoa, Gilberts, Hampshire, Hanover Park, Pingree Grove, Plato, Sleepy Hollow, South Elgin, Streamwood and West Dundee.

Greater South Suburbs - Of the 8,231 homes sold in the Greater South Suburban market, RE/MAX leads with a 29.5 percent market share. The Greater South Suburban market includes Beecher, Burnham, Calumet City, Calumet Park, Chicago Heights, Country Club Hills, Crete, Dolton, East Hazel Crest, Flossmoor, Glenwood, Grant Park, Harvey, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Lansing, Lynwood, Markham, Matteson, Midlothian, Oak Forest, Olympia Fields, Park Forest, Richton Park, Riverdale, Sauk Village, South Chicago Heights, South Holland, Steger, Thornton and University Park.

Kane County - Of the 13,326 homes sold in the Kane County market area, RE/MAX leads with a 35.7 percent market share.

Kendall County - Of the 5,589 homes sold in the Kendall County market area, RE/MAX leads with a 28.9 percent market share.

LaGrange - Of the 978 homes sold in the LaGrange market area, RE/MAX leads with a 25.3 percent market share. The LaGrange market includes Countryside, Indian Head Park, LaGrange, LaGrange Highlands, LaGrange Park, McCook, Western Springs and Willow Springs.

Lake County - Of the 14,292 homes sold in the Lake County market area, RE/MAX leads with a 30.4 percent market share.

McHenry County - Of the 6,114 homes sold in the McHenry County market area, RE/MAX leads with a 30.9 percent market share.

Northwest Suburbs - Of the 15,487 homes sold in the northwest suburban market area, RE/MAX leads with a 28.9 percent market share. The northwest suburban market includes Arlington Heights, Barrington, Broadview, Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Keeneyville, Mt. Prospect, Niles, Palatine, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, River Forest, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, Streamwood and Wheeling.

O'Hare Suburbs - Of the 1,577 homes sold in the O'Hare suburban market area, RE/MAX leads with a 26.4 market share. The O'Hare market includes Elmwood Park, Franklin Park, Leyden Township, Norridge, Northlake, River Grove, Rosemont and Schiller Park.

Southwest Suburbs - Of the 6,629 homes sold in the southwest suburban market area, RE/MAX leads with a 33 percent market share. The southwest suburban market includes the communities of Alsip, Blue Island, Bridgeview, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Crestwood, Evergreen Park, Hickory Hills, Hometown, Justice, Lemont, Midlothian, Oak Forest, Oak Lawn, Orland Hills, Orland Park, Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Palos Park, Posen, Tinley Park and Worth.

West Towns - Of the 4,308 homes sold in the West Towns market area, RE/MAX leads with a 23.2 percent market share. The West Towns market includes Berwyn, Brookfield, Cicero, Forest Park, Forest View, Lyons, North Riverside, Riverside, Stickney and Westchester.

Will County - Of the 20,740 homes sold in the Will Country market area, RE/MAX leads with a 30.1 percent market share.
